How difficult is it to install a stove?
Installation of any heating stove is tricky if you are not familiar
with the local code, the quirks of the type of stove you are installing
or the physics of air flow and venting. Although many home owners
install and operate stoves without any issues what ever and use
them for year it is always a good idea and highly recommended
by Gerald Nevels to hire a trained installer. They will cost you
a little more money but they can save you lots of frustration
and possible property damage.
Will my stove operate when the power is out?
The answer to this question is Maybe!
Wood stoves will work regardless of the power because they heat
by radiant and convection. Some wood stoves are fitted with blowers
to help circulate heat and they would not work during a power
outage but the stove itself would still heat your living space.
A gas stove with a pilot light will produce heat without electricity
much like a wood stove. Any electric blowers will not work, but
as with wood stoves you would heat from radiance and convection.
Pellet stoves use electricity to run many moving parts. This
type of unit is not capable of running without power, so they
will require a battery back up or a generator to operate this
type of unit during an outage.
What is a BTU?
A Btu is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature
of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. This measurement
has become the standard way in which heating requirements are
calculated for living space and homes in the US. Almost all of
the heating equipment bought in the US is rated in BTU's. Stoves
such as those we carry are no exception.

Can I use my stove during a burn ban?
Gas stoves are exempt from EPA emissions standards and are not
regulated by burn bans. The EPA says that wood and pellet stoves
should not exceed 4.5 grams of particulate matter per hour. All
of of our units fall below that mark. The short answer to this
question is yes, but we advise you to see what your local ordnance
says about stoves. Each jurisdiction has different guidelines.
Although our stoves meet or exceed EPA requirements it never hurts
to check.

What is an outside air kit?
outside air kits attach to your stove and draw air through the
wall or down through the floor into a crawl space. Since colder
air is denser it has more oxygen and therefore provides better
combustion, making your stove burn more efficiently and cleaner.
Preheated air from the room would not work as well
